About Pastor Chris
I started this personal website in 2012 to better connect with people and make it easier to find the messages, tools, and encouragement I often share. Here you will find biblical encouragement, ministry resources, leadership helps, and practical guidance for everyday life. I also share personal insights and lessons from my own journey, hoping they will strengthen your faith and help you walk with Christ in everyday situations.
Some of my life experiences include enjoying a great marriage that started when we were 19, raising a family (including an adoption), being a grandparent to kids and teenagers, and sharing life with smart and energetic dogs. I have also worked in corporate sales and marketing and served in full-time pastoral ministry for decades. I enjoy working on cars and trucks, riding my bike, and growing as a follower of Jesus. I am a husband, a pastor, and a lifelong learner who is always seeking to grow.
I grew up in Baptist churches and have served for many years in Converge churches as a member and volunteer at Wooddale Church – Eden Prairie, MN and Cross of Glory Baptist – Hopkins, MN. A Youth & Family Pastor in Forest City, IA and an Outreach and Discipleship Pastor in Chisholm, MN. In 2001 I became a Church Planter with The Christian and Missionary Alliance and Lead Pastor in Belle Plaine, MN. I was ordained in 2008. In 2021 we returned to the Minnesota Iron Range exactly 20 years from the day we left Chisholm, where I now serve as the lead pastor of Rockwell Church in Virginia, Minnesota.
I have preached over a thousand sermons through the years. God’s Word is timeless, and many of those messages continue to be listened to today. Most of my recent sermons are available through the Well Faith with Chris Teien Podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other platforms. I also contribute to the Rockwell.Church website, which includes sermon archives, outlines, media links, and resources to help people stay rooted in Scripture. Sermon videos and short clips are shared on YouTube and TikTok @christeien and just YouTube @rockwelllchurhch218`.
My ministry training includes a biblical studies degree from Moody Bible Institute, a Christian ministry degree from Crown College in Minnesota, and a master’s degree in ministry and leadership from Liberty Theological Seminary. Much of what I have learned has also come through experience, relationships, and walking with people through real life. I have developed and maintained church and ministry websites for nearly three decades and continue to create content that equips others to live and lead well.
I am always learning, always listening, and always trying to pass along what has been helpful to me. If something here encourages you or helps you grow in your walk with Jesus, then this site is fulfilling its purpose.
