I have been through hard times in my Christian life and as a pastor in Christian ministry and really like this song as I have “soldiered on” even when it probably made more sense to give up and am glad I did. Defined idiom: soldier on means to continue doing something with determination or resolve, despite difficulties or an unlikely chance of succeeding.
