For over a decade I have been part of the SWAMP Rats group – A regional Christian & Missionary Alliance pastors prayer group that meets monthly for training, encouragement and prayer. A fun and creative group of guys who love Jesus and enjoy serving Him in their local churches.
SWAMP = South West Area Metro Prayer. An example of their creativity was putting together this prayer video in 2010 that was shown at our C&MA District Conference. I am in the video and in the picture above (I am standing on the “M” in the picture). As you can see in the picture and on this video for one day I got the opportunity to be a “fat fireman” as I weighed over 50 pounds more than I do now. I gained a new respect for real firemen who jump into their boots and gear quickly when there is a real fire and crowd into a fire truck. Just like no fireman should ever work alone no pastor should be without a support group and I am blessed to be motivated, encouraged and supported by the SWAMP Rat Pastors which include guys from Apple Valley, Arlington, Belle Plaine, Chaska, Eagan, Elko-New Market, New Prague, Norwood-Young, America, St Peter, St Bonifacious, and Waconia, Minnesota.
